I looked up at the bar, but I knew I couldn’t do any more. I had reached muscle failure. The Haters

This week I got unusually fed up. I even ranted on Facebook, which was truly a first for me. All the hatin’ was starting to get old. My breaking point appears to be when people have strong angry reactions to seemingly non-controversial subjects. I started getting agitated about a post that basically said CrossFit is fundamentally unsafe, due to the risk of rhabdomyolysis. This is potentially helpful information. However, the article focuses on CrossFit with no evidence of the frequency of occurrence relative to other sports. In short, it was a jab at a sport in the guise of a legitimate warning. The Benefits of Small Life Adventures

Before my week off, everyone asked, “What are you doing for your vacation?” I did have some things planned, but for me it’s mostly about what I’m not doing: the same old, same old. I like what I do in a normal week, but it gets stale. For me, vacation is a chance to do something, anything different. It doesn’t have to be exciting to be enjoyable for me. I took about equal pleasure in watching my daughter water pretty much everything in the backyard with her watering can, seeing sites in the White Mountains, listening to live music, and working out in the middle of the day.
